Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River plays host to thousands of people each year! The Corps of Engineers recorded 222,703 visitors to the Lake and River area in the month of May 2018. There are over 4,000 boat slips, 1,500 campsites, thousands of vacation homes on the lake and river all of which when their owners are here will be indulging in outdoor recreation. And they need lawn mowers, golf cars/utv/atv to ride around on. It is a perfect opportunity to advertise & sell to a huge built in crowd. Vacationers are looking for that “special” cabin on the lake or river, Rv campers are looking to upgrade and everybody can use a new fishing pole. What better place to take a new boat out on the lake or a kayak/canoe out on the Little Red River. Did you know that hikers, mountain bikers and avid sports enthusiasts spend money while vacationing. If you are selling a product or services, we want your business/services to be an exhibitor at the Adventure Outdoors Expo.

ABOUT US
GREERS FERRY LAKE TRAILS COUNCIL
Make Sulphur Creek Trail “YOUR” legacy
for generations to come.
“Lets build this trail together.”
Greers Ferry Lake Trails Council is a “501c3” Non-profit organization. Your donations and gifts are 100% tax deductible!
The Greers Ferry Lake Trails Council(501c3 non-profit org.) in partnership with the City of Heber Springs are forging forward with a 9 mile multi-use trail system. The Sulphur Creek trail will connect several parts of the community in a very real way. Local citizens and thousands of visitors will be able to hike, bike or run from downtown Heber Springs to the ASU Heber Springs campus linking to the trails at Sugarloaf Mountain. The Sulphur Creek trail will also link downtown to the west on the old historical M and NA Railroad “right of way” (Bittle Road) and will make a loop back to the city with spurs to the Heber Springs Sports Complex and Bridal Veil Falls.
To date 1.5 mi of trail has been completed. The community at large has come together as volunteers to help clear trail saving the Council tens of thousands of dollars. Currently, 6 miles of trail easements are ready for trail to be built and a 79’ pedestrian bridge is ready to be installed across Sulphur Creek west of town. The cost for prep work and installation of the pedestrian bridge is estimated around $150,000. All proceeds from the Adventure Outdoors Expo will be used to install bridges, and build more trail.
FACT: Studies show a significant rise in diabetes in all age categories along with obesity, heart disease and mental health issues due to lack of exercise. Facts also show bicycling is growing in popularity for commuting and fitness. Trails are a smart economic move toward a healthier lifestyle and improved quality of life for the Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River area. To learn more, visit the GFLTC website.
The mission of the GFLTC is to plan, build, operate and maintain multi-use trails in the Greers Ferry Lake area which promote fitness and enhance transportation, the local economy and community relations. (please put at the bottom of each page)
